Terms & conditions.
These terms are maintained by Stroom Studio and govern use of this website and our design subscriptions and project work. A signed proposal or order form for a specific engagement takes precedence where it conflicts with this page.

Agreement and parties
These terms form an agreement between you (“client”) and Stroom Studio, a product design studio based in North Carolina, United States. By browsing this site, booking a consultation, or starting a subscription, you accept these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site or our services.
Services
We provide product design services, including UX and UI design, branding, motion, and website and app build work, delivered as monthly subscriptions or as scoped projects. Deliverables, scope, timelines, and the number of active requests for your plan are described on our pricing page and confirmed in your proposal. We do not guarantee any specific business result, ranking, revenue, or conversion outcome.
Pricing
- All prices shown on this site are starting from amounts for a monthly subscription and are estimates, not binding quotes. Your final price is confirmed in writing before work begins.
- Prices depend on scope, complexity, volume of requests, and turnaround. Quarterly commitments may be offered at a discount as shown on the pricing page.
- We display prices in USD by default and in AED for visitors in the Gulf and Levant. Currency shown is for convenience; the currency of record is the one stated in your proposal and invoice.
- Savings comparisons against in-house hiring are illustrative approximations based on average market salaries and are not a promise of savings.
- We may change published prices at any time. A price change does not affect the rate of an active subscription term; we will give at least 30 days’ written notice before it applies to your renewal.
Billing, taxes and late payment
- Subscriptions are billed in advance for each term, and work begins once the first payment clears. Project work is billed as set out in the proposal, typically with a deposit before kickoff.
- Invoices are due on receipt unless the proposal states otherwise. Under North Carolina law we may charge a late fee on overdue balances of the greater of $5.00 or 4% of the past-due amount, plus interest at the statutory rate, and may pause work until the balance is settled.
- Fees exclude taxes. Where required, applicable North Carolina sales and use tax is added to taxable items on your invoice; professional design services are generally not subject to North Carolina sales tax, while certain digital property, software, and tangible items may be. You are responsible for any withholding, VAT, or import taxes in your own jurisdiction.
- Third-party costs, such as fonts, stock assets, plugins, and hosting, are passed through at cost with your prior approval.
Cancellation and refunds
- Monthly subscriptions can be cancelled at any time with written notice to contact@stroomstudio.com. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the paid term, and you keep access to the service until then.
- Quarterly commitments run for their full term. You may cancel renewal with written notice before the term ends.
- Fees for time already worked, and deposits on scoped projects, are non-refundable. Where work has not started, we will refund the unused portion at our discretion.
- We may suspend or end an engagement for non-payment, abusive conduct, or requests that are unlawful or outside our scope, and will hand over completed work paid for at that point.
Client responsibilities
Timely feedback, content, brand assets, and access to the systems we need keep your project on schedule. Delays in approvals or materials shift delivery dates accordingly and do not pause billing. You confirm that any content you give us is either owned by you or properly licensed.
Revisions and acceptance
Each deliverable includes the revision rounds described in your plan or proposal. Requests that change agreed scope or direction are treated as new work and quoted separately. If we do not receive written feedback within ten business days of delivery, the deliverable is treated as accepted.
Intellectual property
You retain ownership of your brand assets and content. Final approved deliverables transfer to you once the related invoices are paid in full. Until then, we retain all rights. We keep ownership of our internal tools, templates, processes, source files not delivered as part of the scope, and any concepts you did not select. Third-party fonts, stock media, and plugins remain under their own licences, which you must maintain.
Portfolio and confidentiality
We treat non-public information you share as confidential and use it only to deliver your work. Unless your proposal or a signed NDA says otherwise, we may show completed work in our portfolio, case studies, and social channels after launch. Tell us in writing if you need an embargo or an anonymised case study and we will honour it.
Warranties and liability
We deliver our services with reasonable professional skill and care. Aside from that, the site and our services are provided “as is” without further warranties, express or implied, including merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Stroom Studio is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for lost profits or data, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the fees you paid us in the three months before the claim arose.
Website use
You may not copy, scrape, resell, or reuse this site’s content, designs, or case studies without written permission, attempt to disrupt the site, or use it for unlawful purposes. Links to third-party sites are provided for convenience, and we are not responsible for their content or practices.
Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of North Carolina, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Consumer protection rights under the North Carolina Unfair and Deceptive Trade Practices Act, and any other rights that cannot be waived by law, remain unaffected. The parties will first try to resolve any dispute in good faith by direct discussion. Failing that, disputes will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in North Carolina, and both parties consent to that jurisdiction and venue.
Changes and contact
We may update these terms as our services change; the current version is always on this page with its last updated date. Questions about these terms, an invoice, or a cancellation go to contact@stroomstudio.com.
